Built for serious, part-time study.
Islam Comprehensive is a two-year diploma program taught one course at a time in a continuous cycle. Each course is designed to give students a deep and broad understanding of a foundational area of Islamic knowledge.
Course texts & resources
Students use iComp-compiled texts and selected external resources. Some course texts are provided free; others may require an electronic or paperback purchase. Revision questions, assignments, homework, and course materials are provided throughout.

Who can enrol? Are there prerequisites?
The program is open to brothers and sisters aged 13 and above who have a general knowledge of Islam and wish to deepen their understanding. There are no formal prerequisites for the program. Arabic Comprehensive requires students to be able to read Qur’anic Arabic. Student tuition requires a valid student ID and age 16+; senior tuition is for those aged 60+.
What course texts and materials are used?
iComp uses books compiled specifically for the program alongside external resources. Select course texts are provided free of charge; other texts may need to be purchased in electronic or paperback form. Students also receive course materials, revision questions, assignments, and homework.
How much study is expected outside class?
Each course includes a midterm quiz and final exam. Students should plan for roughly 1–3 hours per week outside class for revision, assignments, and homework; regular attendance and punctual completion of work are expected.
What if I miss a class?
Class recordings are available for students to catch up on missed lessons and for revision. Please use them to stay current with the course.
Is iComp like an Aalim course?
The iComp courses were adapted from the Aalim Course into a shorter, part-time program for people with work, school, and family commitments. Completing the iComp Diploma does not certify a student as an Islamic scholar or authority.
Can I join after a course has started?
If only a few classes have passed, students may be able to catch up using recordings. Otherwise, enrolment opens again when the next course in the continuous cycle becomes available.
Can I complete only part of the program?
Yes. Courses may be completed individually. Each successfully completed course earns four credits; completing all six courses for 24 credits earns the iComp completion diploma. Credits do not expire, but each course can count only once.
I need financial assistance. Can I still enrol?
Yes. No one is refused admission for financial reasons. Zakat and other financial assistance may be available; email finances@ihsan.ca.
How long has iComp been running?
Islam Comprehensive launched in 2010. Alhamdulillah, hundreds of students have completed the diploma program.
What is the refund policy?
Receive a full refund up to 24 hours before the course start date and time, or a 75% refund up to two weeks into the course. No refund is available after that. Non-attendance does not remove payment obligations; the same policy applies.
