Shaykh Sheryar Bashir

Shaykh Sheryar Bashir is an educator, in both the Islamic and secular fields. He is and Islamic Scholar and Certified BC Instructor.

Shaykh Sheryar was raised in Surrey, BC and at the age of 17, began treading the road to knowledge by moving to Karachi, Pakistan. He studied at multiple renowned institutions such as Darul-Uloom Binnori Town and Madrasa Ma’arif al-Quran, while learning tajwid and memorizing the Holy Qur’an with experienced and well-known Qaris.

Upon completing his Tahfiz Ul Quran, he pursued his studies in Islamic sciences. He started his 7 year Shariah program in Madrastul Husnain, Tolamba, under the instruction and supervision of Maulana Tariq Jamil Sahab. Shaykh Sheryar then moved back to Surrey to continue his journey for knowledge at Al-Ihsan Education Foundation under Mufti Aasim Rashid Sahab. With the intent of pursuing higher and advanced education of Hadith, he traveled to the renowned Islamic College of Bury, UK under the instruction and guidance Shaykh al-Hadith Maulana Yusuf Mutala Sahab. He graduated from Darul Uloom Bury, completed the Aalim Program with distinctive honors.

At Al-Ihsan, Shaykh Sheryar has had the honour of teaching several senior-level subjects, including Mishkat al-Masabih, Tafsir al-Jalalayn, Muwatta Malik, and more.

Currently at Al-Ihsan, Shaykh Sheryar is the Director of Outreach and Youth and an instructor in various programs.

Shaykh Sheryar also conducts numerous programs and activities at local mosques and community centres for the Muslim public. He is known for his motivational and enthusiastic style of speaking which leaves the audience focused and learning. 

He also holds a Bachelor’s in Education and is pursuing a Master’s in Education at UBC in Administrative Leadership and Management.
